Notices – week commencing 20 April 2020

Announcement
1.0 The Prime Minister announced that NZ will move to Alert Level 3 at 11.59pm on Monday 27 April.
1.1 With this in mind, Tuesday 28 April has been set aside for a Teacher Only Day.
1.2 We have been instructed to re-open school on Wednesday 29 April for Y0-10 pupils who NEED to attend school because their parents are unable to look after them [due to being an essential worker] or must leave home to attend work. The strong message from the government is for all children to work and learn from home if they can.
1.3 To re-open school during this time will require a re-think of how we operate as there will be quite restrictive health guidelines to follow.

Next Steps
2.0 Steve Frost will meet with the MOE tomorrow to receive health and safety guidelines.
and also with our Senior Leadership Team to begin planning on how we will operate as a school.
2.2  A detailed email will be sent as soon as possible.
2.3 We will need to find out how many families plan to send their child to HCS during Alert Level Three so please think this through wisely. There will be a Survey Monkey to fill in soon, so we know how many students to expect each day.

Initial Reports
3.0 The Initial Reports will be electronically sent out to parent’s email addresses by 5pm tomorrow, Tuesday 21st April.
3.1. These reports comment on how your child has settled in to class in Term One and give an indication on how well they have shown the essential skills/competencies expected at their level.
