Kia ora Parents. Thank you for your ongoing support. I appreciate it has been difficult for all of us on some level and your ongoing co-operation and kindness has just been what the community has needed. We are on this journey together and there still seems to be a long road to travel so please keep praying for one another and helping each other where needed. We have now been given definite dates so we can plan ahead. Here are more details regarding the plan going forward over the next few days:
1. School is CLOSED for ALL pupils EXCEPT children belonging to families who are workers in essential services. PLEASE do not send your child to school unless you fit the exception. The government has ordered self isolation for every family not fitting the essential services criteria. Essential services worker’s children are welcome to attend school for Tuesday 24th March and Wednesday 25th March inclusive.
2. School will be closed for ALL pupils from Thursday 26th March onwards. Term 2 will begin on Wednesday 15 April (after Easter Tuesday). Hillview is set up for online learning and this will commence on Wednesday 15 April. There will be communication to the pupils/families to explain how this process will work and the best way to approach it. Families will need access to the internet and have a device that can engage in SEESAW platform or GOOGLE CLASSROOM platform – we are confident most, if not all, families have this already in place.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask your classroom teacher via email or the platform (once set up). Many blessings and Joshua 1:9 – Do not be afraid – Be strong and courageous for the Lord is with you. Steve Frost Tumuaki/Principal
