School

The Junior School is located on a picturesque 1.2Ha peaceful site at the foot of the Port Hills in St Martins, which is located in the south-east of Christchurch. Facilities, include 11 classrooms, a library, remedial reading rooms, a music room and a swimming pool. In 1999 land and buildings belonging to St Martins' Catholic Church were purchased so that the school could continue to grow. On this site, which is 90 metres south of the original school, and on the opposite side of Wilsons Road, is a computer room, a music room, a science laboratory and a modern two-storey classroom block.

A hall and classroom are leased from the adjacent Bowls Club. As well there is a sports field with two netball/basketball courts and a soccer field. The Senior School is based on this site.

Hillview Christian School is a community where strong, caring relationships are fostered. We are focused on the development of character and each pupil is encouraged to develop responsible attitudes and self-discipline. For children today, heading though teen years to adulthood is a challege that needs staff who care and are skilled at communicating realistic boundaries and conduct. Provision of a secure and loving environment will help students during their most impressionable years.
